Enlarged Prostrate
Symptoms
Prostrate Symptoms
The medical term for enlarged prostrate
symptoms is benign prostatic hyperplasia or "BPH". A lot
of men with BPH do not experience any symptoms
or their symptoms are very mild even though their prostate size
has greatly increased. On the other hand, some men can
experience very severe symptoms even with only a
slightly enlarged prostate gland. The amount of prostate
enlargement is not always related to the severity of the
symptoms. Your enlargedprostrate
symptoms may become more severe due to cold weather or
emotional or physical stress.
Certain over
the counter drugs can aggravate enlarged prostrate
symptoms. These include Benadryl, Sudafed and
Afrin. Some prescription medicines can also increase the
severity of enlarged prostrate symptoms including pain
medicines, diuretics and antidepressants.
Enlarged
prostrate symptoms may include some or all of the
following symptoms and with different degrees of
severity:
Painful

A feeling that
the bladder has not been emptied after urinating

difficult to start urinating

stream or just a dribble

Stopping and
starting several times while urinating
Frequent urges
to urinate, especially at night
A sudden or
strong urge to urinate

urinate again soon after urinating.

The
above list of enlarged prostrate symptoms are not
always indicative of an enlarged prostate and may be
symptoms of some other condition including but not limited to
